22. Sugarloaf Knob

The Sugarloaf Knob is the tallest known mountain you can find within the Ohiopyle State Park, with a height of 2,667 feet. The view from Yougiogheny overlook, which is 1900 ft, is more spectacular than the close overlook at the Fire Tower that is 2900 ft.

Trails Surrounding the Sugarloaf knob are four hiking trails, snowmobiling, and mountain biking trails. You should know that no visible trail leads to the mountain’s peak.

The Sugarloaf Knob can be easily reached via a park road that leads you below the mountain.

A Sugarloaf trail can be seen here, a 3.8 challenging mile trail with its starting point close to the Visitor Center/Train Station. The height of the trail is 800 feet and has two steep sections, and it links the central trail bike area to the Sugarloaf Knob.
