Las Cascadas Water Park in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, opened its doors in 1985 as the most extensive and only water park in the Caribbean. 

The Park was shut down in 2017 due to Hurricane Maria’s destruction and reopened in May 2022. 

Although it is no longer the largest or the only park, it is still one of the largest and most popular in Puerto Rico. 

The Park has something for everyone. It features six water rides, a white-water rapid ride, a lazy river, a wave pool, a kiddie pool, and a water agility course. 

Las Cascadas Water Park is open 5-6 days, from 9 am to 5 pm, during the summer but not from Fall to Spring.

The mini golf course has ten dinosaurs that are well-made and great for pictures.

The Park has become an incredible place to entertain the whole family. Although entrance to the park is free, you still have to pay for the attractions. 

The Chorritos Aquatic Waterpark outside is designed particularly for children. 

The Animal World featuring animal figures exhibited in various habitats is another attraction. There’s also a mini golf adorned with dinosaurs. 

Your tour will be aided by a guide explaining all the interesting and curious facts about the animals on display. 

One of the most frequented attractions is the 5D Cinema which is presently the only one in Puerto Rico with this technology. 

You can watch the movie with 3D glasses while experiencing extraordinary effects like air, movement, and turns. The last feature is the Game Room.

Villa Enchumbà’s area has a community center and gazebo to rent to hold occasions. 

For adults and teens is the “Ola Marine” Park, whose leading attraction is a giant wave pool. It contains a pool with sliders and an area with sprinklers for small children. 

If you have no desire to get wet, there are other options for you. 

You can visit the Botanical Garden and spend a relaxing time in nature. The garden is a stunning collection of tropical plants adorned with artificial waterfalls and lakes. 

The adventure at Alberguel Olímpico Germán Rieckehoff extends to “Piedra Chiquita,” a rock climbing park with an artificial wall of 55 feet. It also contains a smaller climbing stone for kids. 

The next place to visit in this amusement park is “Campo Chico,” a golf course with 18 holes encircled by nature. In the center of the golf course, there is a large tree with benches to rest. 

Another place you should not miss when you visit Alberguel Olímpico Germán Rieckehoff is the Olympic Museum. The Museum provides Puerto Rico’s sports history and representation worldwide.

Arecibo Lighthouse & Historical Park offers the public, The Morillos Lighthouse from 1898. The Spanish Government constructed it on the island before the Hispanic-American War. 

The park was restored, and its doors were open to the public in 2001. 

At this park, you will discover representations of Puerto Rico’s history, such as the Taino Village, African Hut, the Spanish Conquest with three ships, the Pirate Ship, and the only salt-water aquarium on the island. 

You can use the “Splash by the Lighthouse,” a wading pool area for children and adults. 

You can begin at the replica Taino Village which features huts, a ball field with regular Taino symbols, and a life-sized mannequin depicting the chief and family. 

An outstanding feature of this park is the Pirate’s Hideout, an air-conditioned cave with different twists. It turns in the dark with a diorama of pirates carrying out activities like drinking rum, playing with the gold, or burying treasures. 

In the center of the cave, you will see an aquarium. One big tank has a sunken ship with tiny sharks and other fish swimming about. 

The guide map provides some description of the things you will see. There are bi-lingual signs surrounding the educational part of the park.
