This 309-acre recreation area, accessible from Spring Street and Birch Mountain Road, was initially owned by the Case family, who owned a water bottling plant and a paper mill.
Mountain bikers and hikers are pulled to Case Mountain’s three mountain summits and over ten miles of interlinked trails.
The area’s seven trail includes a two-mile section of the Shenipsit Trail, a Connecticut Blue-Blazed Hiking Trail.
Trails stretch to Glastonbury’s Buckingham Reservoir and Hebron’s Gay City State Park.
The White Blaze trail, also known as the Carriage Path, is the most popular in Carriage Path.
The Carriage Path is a three-mile trail linking the Case Pond parking lot to the Spring Street parking lot.
